What is the trade up program?
The WHOOP trade up program lets you send in a wearable you no longer want — like an Oura Ring, Apple Watch, Fitbit, or Garmin — for an instant discount on your WHOOP membership at checkout. Instead of sitting in a drawer, your old device gets a second life. Currently available in the US. Trade up Terms & Conditions apply.
Which devices can I trade up with?
We accept a range of popular wearables, including Oura Ring, Apple Watch, Fitbit, and Garmin. Select your device, model, and condition above to see if your device qualifies and how much it's worth. If your device isn't listed, it isn't eligible for trade up yet — we're working to add more.
Can I trade up with more than one device?
At this time, you can trade up with one device per customer.
How much can I save?
Your discount depends on the device, model, and condition of what you're trading up with. Once you select those details, you'll see your exact discount before you check out — no guessing, no waiting.
How does trade up work?
Pick your device, model, and condition, and we'll apply a discount to your cart instantly. After you check out, you'll receive a prepaid shipping label by email, and you'll have 30 days from receiving it to ship your old wearable.
What condition does my device need to be in?
Your device doesn't need to be perfect, but its condition affects your discount value — you'll select the condition during checkout, and our trade up operating partner will inspect the device once it arrives to confirm it. As long as the device matches what you selected, your discount stands.
What if my device condition is deemed different from what I selected?
If your device condition is deemed poorer than what you selected, WHOOP reserves the right to recover all or part of the trade up discount, or suspend your membership. Trade up Terms & Conditions apply.
Where does my trade up device go?
Your device goes to our trade up partner, Refreshed Tech. WHOOP never handles your device directly.
What happens if I don't send in my device?
Your trade up discount is based on sending in your old device and its charger. If your device and charger aren’t shipped within 30 days — or don’t match the condition you selected — your membership may be suspended or you may be charged the trade up discount value. Ensure that you send it in on time and in the condition you described.
Will my personal data be removed from my old device?
Before you ship your device, you must back up anything you'd like to keep and reset it to factory settings to remove your personal data. Once received, your device is securely processed and wiped by WHOOP’s eligible device program operator.
What if I cancel my membership after trading up?
If you cancel your WHOOP membership within your first 30 days, we'll refund what you paid for the membership. Your trade up, however, is final — once you've sent in your device, it can't be returned.
If I trade up, will I get a discount on my membership next year?
No—your trade up discount is only applied for your first year of membership at checkout. You are subject to full price for membership renewal.
Can I get my trade up device back after shipping it?
No—your trade up is final sale. Once you ship your trade up device, you cannot get it back.
Is the trade up program available where I live?
The trade up program is currently available in the US only. We're exploring bringing it to more countries in the future.
