During your study

A WHOOP Labs researcher will guide your session. Depending on the study, you may complete a workout or physical task such as cycling, running, or strength exercises while we collect data, or test new product experiences like app features, sensors, or prototype hardware.

Get Compensated

After completing your session, you’ll receive compensation — this could include WHOOP gear, exclusive insights, or a monetary incentive, depending on the study.

How to get to WHOOP

When it’s time for your session, we recommend taking public transportation or a rideshare to Abdullah Bin Thani St for easy drop-off. Parking is available in nearby lots if traveling by car. WHOOP Labs is located off the inner pedestrian roads. Walk inward from the street to reach the building.

What to expect when you arrive

Check in at the front desk and speak with our team. A staff member will guide you to the WHOOP Labs space and walk you through next steps.

During your study

Each session is guided by a WHOOP Labs researcher and includes structured workouts, activities, and product testing.

Study Compensation

WHOOP Labs uses a points-based system to reward participants for joining our research studies. Every time you complete a study, you earn points that can be redeemed at the lab for a variety of exciting rewards.

Compensation is sent via email 3-7 business days following your study. Point values vary by study.

WHOOP Memberships

Redeem your points for a WHOOP Labs annual membership. If you’re an existing member, your membership will extend your current membership by 12 months. New to WHOOP? Redeem your code online to start a 12-month membership. Codes are one-time use and can’t be combined with other discounts, offers, or bundles.

Is membership required for WHOOP Labs studies?

No, unless stated otherwise in the study details.

Can I participate in multiple studies?

Yes, participating in one study does not prevent you from being considered for future studies. You are welcome to participate in any study for which you are eligible; invitations may be limited due to the size of our Research Community.

How long do studies typically last?

The majority of our studies take about 1 hour to complete. However, we conduct a wide range of studies and there are opportunities to participate in everything from 30-minute sessions to multi-week programs. The expected participation time will be included in study recruitment communications; make sure to read these details carefully when signing up for a study.

Can WHOOP Labs accommodate my accessibility needs?

We are committed to creating an inclusive and accessible research experience. If you require accommodations or have accessibility needs, please contact the WHOOP Labs team before your visit. We will work with you to understand your needs and determine whether accommodations can be provided for your specific study.

What do I need to wear or bring to my study?

What you should wear or bring depends on the specific study you are participating in. Some studies may involve exercise or physical activity, in which case we recommend wearing comfortable workout clothing and sneakers. Any special requirements will be communicated in the study description and appointment details.

Can I use my phone during my study?

Personal phones are generally not permitted during study sessions unless specifically requested as part of the study.

Can I park at WHOOP Labs?

There is a paid underground parking that is usually available during Lab operating hours. Validated parking is only available for specific studies; if offered, parking validation will be highlighted in study communications. If parking is not mentioned, validated parking is not available. For more efficient and direct access to the Lab, we recommend utilizing elevators 14 or 15. Additionally, both standard and VIP valet options are available at specified points for your convenience.

What amenities are available at WHOOP Labs?

WHOOP Labs offers restrooms with showers, as well as towels, shampoo, and soap for use after your session. We also provide refreshments and light snacks before and after study visits.

What happens if I'm running late?

If you are running late, please notify the WHOOP Labs team as soon as possible. While we will do our best to accommodate delays, we cannot guarantee participation if you arrive more than 15 minutes after your scheduled study time. You can contact the WHOOP Labs team by emailing whooplabsdoha@whoop.com.

How do I cancel or reschedule my study?

Once you have scheduled your session, you should use the confirmation email to cancel or reschedule your session. If you run into any issues, please contact whooplabsdoha@whoop.com for help.

Can I bring a guest?

To ensure participant privacy and maintain study protocols, study sessions must be attended individually. Friends, family members, and other guests are not permitted in the lab, and children under the age of 18 may not accompany participants.

What’s the difference between WHOOP Labs and WHOOP Advanced Labs?

WHOOP Labs is our dedicated in-person research facility in Boston, where we conduct hands-on testing to support product development research. Digital WHOOP Labs is an extension of WHOOP Labs, allowing members to participate in research, directly in the WHOOP app. Advanced Labs is a new WHOOP service that enables members to combine existing WHOOP data with clinical lab testing.

How is my data used?

If you're participating in a WHOOP Labs study, the data collected will vary based on the specific study. Depending on the study, the data being collected could include your personal information, behavioral and lifestyle information, health-related information. Before you choose to participate in a WHOOP Labs study, you will be able to review a clear explanation of what data will be collected so that you can make an informed decision. Your participation is always voluntary and you can opt out at any time.
